Tiberino 1888

A Family Story

There is an alley in the old heart of Bari where it all began.
Late 19th century. Nicola Tiberino hangs a sign outside a small shop in Via Vallisa with the family name on it. He sells food specialties. He sells flavour. He sells, without knowing it yet, a story that will last more than a century.

Chapter One

The Workshop

Nicola has no great ambitions of conquest. He is hands-on, has a fine nose, and the stubbornness of someone who knows that doing things well is the only path worth taking. Then his sons, Raffaele and Tommaso, arrive, and that shop grows, expands, becoming a wholesale food business that starts to become known beyond the neighborhood's borders.

Chapter Two

Europe

After the war, it was the turn of the third generation. Nicola, the grandson, with the same name as his grandfather, as per family tradition, took the reins and looked beyond. Far beyond. He transformed everything into an import-export of Italian specialties and brought the Apulian taste all over Europe. The name Tiberino began to travel.

Chapter Three

The First Tiberinos

1999. Raffaele, Nicola's son, is the fourth generation. He has an idea that seems simple but is not at all: what if you could bring a real Italian first course, good, authentic, made with real ingredients, to any corner of the world, in just a few minutes? This is how Primi Tiberino was born: pasta, risottos, soups, couscous. No semi-finished products. No shortcuts. Only natural ingredients and timeless wisdom.

Chapter four

The stars

And then comes the moment no one expected.
Since 2007, Tiberino has been preparing meals for astronauts on joint international missions between NASA, ESA, and ASI. The food from a small shop in Bari, founded in 1888, reaches space. Among the stars, literally. From that unique experience, Outfood is born: the first Italian line of dehydrated ready meals for outdoor enthusiasts.

Today

From that alley in old Bari, Primi Tiberino can now be found in the best gourmet stores in the USA, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and throughout Europe. But the philosophy has remained the same as it was on the first day, when Nicola wrote something that is still valid today:

"Ours is not simply a commercial activity. It is the passion for doing good things well."
